Prettia Bubble Hair Color in Milk Tea

Best Blogger Tips

What the Label Says

Prettia (Kao Japan) Bubble Foam Hair Coloring Kit is an innovative D.I.Y hair coloring product that uses foam to dye the hair. Unlike traditional hair color kit, it turns the coloring agents into bubbles!! Hair colorings are now as simple as like washing hairs. Thanks to this super easy & convenient hair coloring mechanism.

It contains the extracts of Amino and Royal Jelly to minimize the dyeing damage and restore the hair.

The dye chemicals can transform into foam to blend into hair evenly and effectively. The formula does not have an unpleasant or pungent smell. The finish looks smoothly shiny and the hair does not feel dry or damaged.

How To Use

NOTE: USE PRODUCT ON DRY HAIR!

STEP 1: ADD CONTENTS OF COLOR #1 BOTTLE TO COLOR #2 BOTTLE. SEAL BOTTLE TIGHTLY WITH WHITE CAP.

STEP 3: TURN BOTTLE UPSIDE DOWN A COUPLE OF TIMES UNTIL WELL MIXED. IMPORTANT: DO NOT SHAKE BOTTLE!

STEP 4: REPLACE WHITE BOTTLE CAP WITH THE PINK FOAMER CAP.

STEP 5:  WEAR GLOVES. SQUEEZE BOTTLE TO RELEASE FOAM ON THE PALM OF YOUR HANDS. DO NOT APPLY FOAM DIRECTLY ON YOUR HAIR.
STEP 6: APPLY FOAM ON HAIR AND GENTLY LATHER LIKE YOU WOULD DO WHEN SHAMPOOING. MAKE SURE FOAM IS EVENLY APPLIED ON YOUR ENTIRE HAIR. LEAVE ON FOR 20-30 MINS. FOR VIRGIN BLACK HAIR YOU MAY NEED TO LEAVE THIS A BIT LONGER TO GET DESIRED COLOR.
STEP 7: RINSE HAIR THOROUGHLY. USE AFTER COLOR MOISTURIZER TO COAT HAIR. SOME SAY ITS OK NOT TO RINSE HAIR AFTER APPLYING THE MOISTURIZER. I RINSED MY HAIR AFTER LEAVING ON THE MOISTURIZER FOR 5 MINS.

Results

NOTE:
I TOOK LOADS OF PICTURES OF MY HAIR AFTER APPLICATION AND FOUND THAT MY HAIR SHOWED DIFFERENT COLORS UNDER DIFFERENT LIGHTINGS. IN ONE PHOTO MY HAIR WAS RED, IN ANOTHER PHOTO IT WAS VERY LIGHT, ALMOST BLONDISH, IN ANOTHER PHOTO IT LOOKED ORANGE. WEIRD RIGHT? THE PHOTOS ABOVE WERE CHOSEN BECAUSE THEY WERE THE COLOR THAT CLOSELY MATCHED MY ACTUAL HAIR COLOR.

I NOTICED THAT MY HAIR FINALLY ACHIEVED ITS "REAL COLOR" 1 WEEK AFTER APPLICATION - NO MORE ORANGE AND RED TINT. THE COLOR ALSO EVENED OUT.

The Good
- It's foam so its very easy to use (unlike the traditional paste like substance of most hair coloring products). It's just like shampooing your hair.
- does not itch. it stung a little bit when i first put it on though, but the sting very quickly disappeared.
- does not stain. this is one of the very good points of Prettia. unlike the traditional hair coloring products in the market where you need to be very careful when applying because it might stain your nape, your clothes, etc. with Prettia, you do need not worry at all!
- no strong chemical smell
- no allergic reactions for me (for those with sensitive skin, it's best to do a skin test first)
- my hair's about 4 inches past my shoulders and i did not get to finish the entire bottle. i was even able to color hubby's hair with it!

Hubby has very dark black hair color so the effect on him was very subtle compared to mine.  but it definitely lightened his hair color.
The Bad
- not available locally but is available for pre-order on local online sellers. sometimes you may be lucky and find on hand stocks of the shade you want

 My Tips
- if you want even colored hair, make sure you cover every single hair strand with the foam. it may be best to section your hair and apply it layer by layer to ensure product is applied evenly, then lather it up as you would do when shampooing. i did not do this when i did my hair. just this morning, hubby noticed there were darker patches on my innermost hair (probably parts where i was not able to apply as much product as i did with the other parts)
- it may be best to choose a color 1 shade lighter than your desired color (especially if you have virgin black hair) and leave it on longer than 30 mins

Final Verdict
A+

I love this product and i can't wait to try out other colors. i'm eyeing on Platinum Beige (from the Ash Brown series) next.

  1. @Elouise: i checked my hair color now (2 days after i dyed my hair) and it's definitely lighter then it was on the 1st day.

  2. @Rose: It's been 4 months since i dyed my hair and the color is still very obvious. It's not as vibrant anymore though as it was 4 months ago, but the color is still definitely obvious.
