Review: EOS Lipbalm

This is VERY delayed review of EOS lipbalms ever since these cute little lipbalm spheres became popular about 2 years ago. I did not instantly jump on the bandwagon and hoarded on them as i was already very happy with my all time favorite lipbalm, Burt's Bees.

These cute little spheres became the talk of the blog world and makeup fans. More so because celebrities were such big fans of these balms.

I bought my first ever EOS lipbalm only a month ago, during my recent drugstore.com haul, just in time also as i was already running out of my Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm. I got mine in Sweet Mint.

I had very high hopes towards this little balm. I mean, there could really be something amazing about this product for it to cause such a big buzz.  This is what their site says about these spheres:

eos lip balm is 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free. Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, eos keeps your lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth.
  • Long-lasting moisture
  • Shea butter & vitamin E
  • Smoothes on clear
  • New smooth sphere precisely glides on to lips
  • Twist-off top
  • Gluten-free
  • Paraben-free
  • Petrolatum-free
  • Phthalate-free

After a week of using this, here's my honest opinion:

eos lip balms does what it promises to do. it does a good job of moisturizing your lips, just as what all lip balms should do. however, i do not see anything else amazing that sets this lipbalm apart from all the other lipbalms. I mean brownie points for it being organic and natural but there are also numerous organic and natural lip balms out there, including Burt's Bees. It tastes good and smells good but there are also other lip balms that smell and taste good. I personally prefer lip balms with a strong minty smell, the kind that gives that "minty tingle" on your lips. Although eos do give your lips a slight minty tingle, i still prefer Burt's Bees strong minty tingle on my lips. But this is just a personal preference though. I know other girls dislike a strong minty flavor and the tingle on their lips.

What sets this apart from all the other lip balms though is its cute spherical packaging. They're just so cute and fun to carry around! The packaging also comes in different fun colors so you can choose whatever suits your mood for that day.

Will i repurchase? Hmmm.. maybe. I still plan though on buying another small tub of Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm because i think my lips are really used to its minty feel.

Will i recommend this? I don't have high praises for this but yes, out of curiosity, you may want to give this a try

Price:
 P 250.00 at local resellers

Flavors:
 - Summer Fruit
- Lemon Drop SPF 15
- Strawberry Sorbet

The Good
- smells and tastes great
- easy to use

Final Verdict
A great lipbalm but nothing amazing about this product.
I still prefer Burt's Bees over this.

  1. I skipped this lip balm. I almost bought it but ended up repurchasing my Mentholatum lip balm. I'm glad I didn't jump into the EOS bandwagon. :D

  2. @Pammy: Your definitely not missing out on anything not trying this out. I purchased this more out of curiosity really, there was just too much hype about this then.

  6. I. Love. Eos. So. Much!!!!!!!!!!!! I have 17, and I decorate them for fun! I have 3 sweet mint ones as part of my collection! I love them all. I think they're perfect and Burt's Bees does NOT do the trick for me, in fact it makes my lips drier! :O so yes, I am a fan. I agree, @Anonymous! ;)

  7. I love eos lip balm. Not only are they cute but make your lips soft. I have the sweet mint and coconut milk. They are 7.00usd in my country but that is quite cheap for products this good. I am definitely getting blackberry nectar next.
