Review: Missha Perfect Cover #27 *New Shade

Best Blogger Tips

After 2 months, my Missha Perfect Cover #27 has finally arrived!

Last July, Missha introduced a new shade in their Perfect Cover line, #27 Honey Beige. To date, Missha Perfect Cover now comes in 5 shades:

#13 Milky Beige
#21 Light Beige
#23 Natural Beige
#27 Honey Beige
#31 Golden Beige

For the longest time now, I have been using #23 Natural Beige. Read my review here. Although it is a tad too light for my skintone, I still prefer it over #31 because Golden Beige (#31) is just waaay too dark. Missha got it right by introducing a shade between #23 & #31.

MISSHA PERFECT COVER #27 HONEY BEIGE

Here's a comparison between #23 & #27:

The major difference in the two is that #27 is yellow toned while #23 has a grey tone to it. For an NC35 (NC40 in the summer) like me, #23 is just way too light. However, as my skin tends to oxidize, #23 just blends with my skintone after about an hour or two.

#27 on the other hand is about a 90% match with my skin tone. One of the letdowns though is that it's a bit too yellow for my olive skin. By applying just the right amount of bb cream and when blended really well however, the yellow tone almost goes unnoticed. This did not oxidize on my skin so i have no problems with it getting too dark a few hours after use.

Ironically, both #23 and #27 matches my skin well. The only difference being that #27 is slightly yellow/golden toned so it's a better match on me than #23.

Here's my shade guide for the Missha shades:

#13 Milky Beige (For NC 15-20)
#21 Light Beige (For NC 20-25)
#23 Natural Beige (For NC 25-35)
#27 Honey Beige (For NC 35-40)
#31 Golden Beige (For NC 40-45)

The catch here loves is that the shade #27 is sold only in the US. This is not available in the Philippines and in Korea. I got mine at a pre-order at My Little Shop which explains why i had to wait 2 months. Damage is P1,450.00 for a 50ml tube. It is more expensive than the other shades (only about P900+ for a 50ml tube in ebay and other online shops) because it is sold only in the US. Missha US is more expensive than Missha Korea (where most online shops source their Missha from). Missha in Korea is really cheap.

If you're between NC 35-40, this shade is a must try!

Missha Perfect Cover NEW SHADE! Yey!

Best Blogger Tips

As some of you may already know, I am in love and very loyal to my trusty Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream #23. After a lot of bb cream trials, this is the only one that worked for me. I have been using this for over 2 years now and i NEVER leave home without it, and i mean, never... even when i only have to go to the sari-sari store next door i still put this on. haha.

i was ecstatic when i found out yesterday that Missha has just released a new shade, #27 in Honey Beige.  Although i love #23, i still find it a bit too light. I tried #42, but it was waay too dark too. #27 might just be perfect. I also love that they say that this shade gives good coverage for those with olive skin tone. i only learned late last year (thanks to a very knowledgeable MAC lady at Marrionaud) that i have olive skin tone, all the while i thought i had golden yellow undertones which explains why my foundation shades prior to this knowledge were all wrong.

This is the New Shade in #27:

I am soooooo excited to try this out! I am already running low on my Missha PC so what great timing this is! Unfortunately though, I cannot find yet a local seller for this new shade. I might need to join a Pre-Order for this. This new shade is on sale at the Missha US site, only $8.99. but they don't accept orders outside the US so what a booo!

i'll post a review once i get hold of this. i can't wait!

General Review
As all of you may well know, i'm in love with my Missha Perfect Cover! A few months after i've discovered Missha PC, i finally decided to give this BB Primer a try. So how did this fare? Read on.

The Good
- this did not broke me out
- it smells of baby powder. fortunately, the smell does not irritate me.
- feel lightweight to the skin
- consistency is just right. makes it easy to apply on the face
- moisturizes my face and gives it a smooth finish
- gives a glowy, luminous look to my face
- this makes my BB cream last longer for an additional 3-4 hours compared to putting on BB cream only

The Bad
- did not do anything to control the oiliness of my face

Final Verdict
A+

General Review
I've been using the Missha PC #23 for over a year now but have only gotten to make a review of this excellent product now.

I love love love this BB Cream! I've tried SKinfood, Etude House, Purederm, MAybelline and Skin79 but only Missha PC has given me the best results! The 20ml Trial Size which i first bought surprisingly lasted me 3.5 months! This is daily usage ladies, and i even use more than the recommended pea size amount! The 50ml tube lasts me about 8 months! Isn't it great?

This is by far my favorite BB Cream and i never leave the house without putting Missha PC on. Definitely my HG BB Cream!

The Good

- this did not broke me out
- i like the Pump Packaging better compared to the squeeze tube packaging as i am better able to control the amount of product that comes out of the tube
- #23 shade matches me well. For reference, im an NC35 in MAC. #31 would've suited me well too but my skin tends to oxidize and the #31 shade turns dark on me after about 4 hours so i need to choose a lighter shade
- the texture. not too runny, and not to thick. just right to make the product super easy to blend on the face.
- the coverage is good. coverage is about medium. it's enough to cover minor blemishes and the pores on my skin.
- i love that it gives the perfect dewy, natural, healthy looking look on my face
- i'm loving the sun protection it gives! it has SPF 42, i think one of the highest in the BB Cream market today.
- this bb cream gives me a flawless look on pictures.
- staying power, 4/5. i apply this in the morning (about 7am), and still have this on till about 4pm! (I use Missha BB Boomer in tandem with the PC)

The Bad

- my face looks rather white right after application, but after about 30 mins, it blends well with my skin already

Final Verdict
A+
I LOVE LOVE LOVE MISSHA PERFECT COVER! This baby will be with me for a reaaallly loooong time!
